I could go on and on about compost tea  . . . the short version is that there's little theoretical or empirical basis for its use. Just about all the positive reports come from Elaine Ingram, who has a business in compost teas.

My youngest son read online about growing fungi and bacteria in aerobic compost tea, bought an aquarium pump and was brewing up various batches for his little garden last year.  So the info in the book I recommend "Teaming with MIcrobes" is available online.  Apparently the compost teas can be used to improve plant health, and can be targeted to develop bacteria (for veggies and annuals) or fungi (for trees, bushes and perennials).    Donna
