I don't have any experience with quince, but I seem to remember seeing red flowering quince in the One Green World catalog that they claimed were fruiting and good for cooking. I haven't gotten their catalog in years, though, so what they offer may have changed.

My girlfriend would like a flowering quince for the ornamental flowers
and I would like to get some fruit. She claims she had one once that
fruited. Anyone have advice on combining ornamental flowers with fruit
production in a quince??
Best,
Jay
