Newtosh is one of my favorite apples. The ones in storage are just now
getting really good, and this is the first year that I have had enough to
enjoy all winter. I got mine from St Lawrence Nursery and it is about 20' to
25' tall after 17 years or so.

Has anyone tried any of these apples? The few descriptions of Quebec
Belle and Newtosh in catalogs seem to come from the same source. I'm
planning on planting Spy (and am happy to take any cold hardy
rootstock recommendations-I was thinking Bud 118) if I don't hear
anything great about Quebec Belle or Sandow. Newton is too late for my
locale in Northern VT and I really love the Newton flavor and texture
and haven't found any others apples that remind me of it. Thanks.
