We've had our first 'Desert King' this past week. Very hot dry weather-
perfect for ripening the figs. They are marvelous this year! Birds haven't
bothered them yet. The occasional fruit with ants is a different-favored
treat. I just eat the ants and all- gives the figs a spicy whang.
