Karen,

It depends on the pH of the spray solution. Captan and Imidan are among the
worst to degrade rapidly under high pH conditions. Most water supplies are
alkaline.

At a pH of 8 Captan has a half-life of 10 minutes. If you buffer the water
to a 5 pH, it's half-life is 32 hours.

Imidan has a half-life of 4 hours at 8 pH, and 13 days at 4.5 pH.


Additionally certain minerals in the water will tie up certain pesticides,
rendering them less effective.
