Depends on the training system you use. With lots of support wires you can train them to a vertical curtain that may only take three feet or less from front to back. Otherwise, figure on more like five to six feet. With 8 feet between rows it's not uncommon for uncontrolled vines to reach across the row and tangle with each other, blocking the aisle.
