My reply:
You can get a very small shop vac, I use a full size with a paper funnel I
stick in the end.
An Oreck might also work.

Is there a portable vacuum that has enough suction to suck up a Yellow
Jacket in flight? The ones I've tried aren't powerful enough to accomplish
the task. When I'm picking blackberries, I'd like to be able to have a
vacuum cleaner in a holster so I could zap Yellow Jackets when I see them on
or around fruit so I can stop looking at every fruit before I reach for it.
Yellow Jackets make berry picking alot slower than the job should be.
I'm looking for suggestions?

I mow my Autumn Bliss every Fall and I use a long handled pruning shears
to accomplish the task. We mow them right down to the ground. If we leave
any above ground buds, these produce low-growing summer berries - mowing
with a lawn mower also leaves above ground buds. All rows have drip
irrigation permanently in place and we add 6" of pine needles every three
years to replenish the mulch. The only perennial weed we have a problem
with is Quack Grass which we pull by hand as it approaches the berry patch
from outside my property.
