Hello Group,
This is the same message that earlier, sent from my office computer... It seems my first one (which was sent from my home computer) didn't reach some of you for some reasons to investigate. Personnally, I got my first message fine when I opened my office computer.

Lisa,
I have read there is also a White Astrakan, but it is not known very much. I have the red one. It is a rather good very early apple. Better tasting than the Yellow Transparent in my opinion and about the same season.

Claude, in Quebec.

Does anyone know anything about this apple? I am reading an old book about New Hampshire and the author is singing its praises. I noticed in the latest issue of Pomona that a Red Astrakan is mentioned. Are there different varieties? Any info appreciated, thanks. Lisa Snow covered 12 degrees zone 6
