Always glad to hear of a new apple coming down the pike resistant to scab. The article suggesting some growers spray 20 times for scab control is highly exaggerated- even for organic growers using sulfur. In a home orchard setting in the northeast, scab can be controlled with 2 or 3 sprays using an SI or Strob. Commercial growers might use as many as 5 but nothing like 20. That is more than is used to control scab, fly speck and sooty blotch put together, which most years doesn't get much higher than 10 applications I'm told.
