You could probably find a recipe for chicken pot pie and just substitute the squirrel meat. You'd need to simmer the squirrel carcasses in a stock pot until the meat could come off the bone. I suspect it would be very similar to chicken pot pie in taste and texture. Eddie Earles -----Original Message----- Hi Doc, That reminds me of the minced meat pies my Mother used to make. Not the apple & raisin crap they today call, "minced pie." This was with real beef and schnapps, an old German recipe. Das var so gut! More beef than apples, no raisins. Loved it! While she still lived (lived to 95) I asked her for the recipe and she had none. She told me the basic ingredients and said to work with portions until it tasted right. Sad to say I was never able to get it even close, bearly eatable. I just cleaned 3 squirrels not 15 minutes ago, shot 2 in the Pounds pecan tree and one under it, on the ground. I love those quite 22 cal CB shorts, very quiet. They weren't aware of what was going on. Standing in the garage with the door slightly ajar helped. If I had the correct recipe, I'd try minced squirrel pie. I know, some folks are repulsed at the thought of a pie made with meat. Jerry ************** Get the Moviefone Toolbar.
