I've seen ONE diospyrobezoar in a horse. A firm mass
of compacted persimmon seeds, seed capsules, and, I
suppose skins, approximately six inches long, with a
diameter of approximately 2.5 inches; it obstructed
the horse's duodenum, resulting in colic and death.
It occupies a spot in my collection of
trichobezoars(hairballs), enteroliths, and rumen
magnets with their assorted captured 'hardware'.

The condition is called a bezoar. It's real. It's
a concretion of
skins and seeds, though you have to eat a LOT of
them. I've heard it's
most common among hunters who eat wild persimmons
while they are in the
woods and include a lot of partially ripe ones.

Also has anyone even made tea out of the leaves?  If
so when is the
best time to use them?
