Eddie, chill out. Rules of language are fluid and can be regional. In the northeast cider is usually unfermented as people understand it. They are not mistaken because the people they communicate with have the same definition and have for a very long time. Read some Shakespeare and tell me what is correct when it comes to English. For most Americans there is cider and hard cider and you might as well get used to it or move to England where you can drink cider and watch some football.
