There is a thornless trailing blackberry that was released a coulpe years ago from the USDA-ARS breeding program in Corvallis named 'Black Pearl.' There is also an old black raspberry cultivar named 'Black Pearl' which is one of the parents of the cultivar 'Black Hawk'
