How about a crab apple grafted onto M27 or P22 this
gives a really small container friendly tree as apposed to something that looks
like a leafy broomstick

Subject: [NAFEX] Columnar Apples
Has anyone grown columnar apples either in the
ground or a large container? If so, have they actually produced
fruit? I'm thinking about buying a pair to plant in huge tubs that would
sit in my perennial garden. It's not like I need the fruit (have nine
apple trees in the ground), but I thought they'd look cool amongst the tall
flowers if they fruit. Good photo opportunity, etc.
