I have used Mallard ducks, 6 eggs hatched which were swiped
from under evergreen shrubbery in a local cemetary that had water.
They are somewhat damaging, once slugs, snails, weeds, etc are gone.
We didn't clip them; some oif the 6 stayed up to the 3rd yr. Some cats
predate them. But aside from banys, consider chukar and the like. Quail.

Can I just keep guinea hens or some type of domestic fowl in my fencedorchard to eat the bad bugs such as Japanese beetles? Because it is the
only area safe from deer I keep all my fruit and vegetable gardens
there. I had not considered fowl before because I had assumed that they
would eat my delicious Sun Gold tomatoes (among other things).
Does anyone have experience with these birds as garden predators?
