Folks,
One of the traditional names for Jewelweed is Touch-me-not, although it
seems this appelation might be better applied to Nettles.
The name presumably derives from its seed pods, which when ripe explode upon
the slightest touch, as though a great tension is being released, flinging
the seeds away.
Their relative, the commonly available impatiens flower demonstrates this
same strategy for broadcasting its seeds.
