CHESAPEAKE - In observance of Arbor Day, tree seedlings will be given away from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at three Chesapeake locations.

Native persimmon, American filbert, or hazelnut, and black walnut tree seedlings will be given away at the Chesapeake Arboretum, 624 Oak Grove Road, for the city's Great Bridge and Greenbrier areas.

Tulip tree, bush indigo and native apple tree seedlings will be distributed at the Major Hillard Library, 824 Old George Washington Hwy., serving the Deep Creek section.

Short leaf pine, silky dogwood and native persimmon seedlings will be handed out at the Russell Memorial Library, 2808 Taylor Road, in the city's Western Branch area.

Seedlings will be given away by Chesapeake master gardeners until noon or until the supply runs out. The trees are provided by the Virginia Department of Forestry.
