Be careful where you take your scion wood from. Pox has been found in
Southwest Michigan Research and Experiment Center (SWMREC), a Michigan State
University facility, located near the Benton Harbor-St. Joseph area.

Also, a 108-tree orchard located in Niagara County, N.Y. -- within five miles
of plum pox eradication zones in Canada.

And in 2000 the virus was detected in Nova Scotia and Ontario, Canada.

Plum pox virus was first detected in North America in October of 1999 in
Adams County, Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania quarantines have involved parts of Adams, Cumberland and York
counties for Plum Pox Virus. Huntington and Latimore townships and the
borough of York Springs in Adams Co., Dickenson Township in Cumberland Co.
and Franklin Township in York Co. have a history of plum pox. In Adams Co.,
the area of Tyrone township between State Highway 234 and Cranberry Road.
