Bill, Kansas State University recommends Lodi, Redfree, Prima, Gala, and
Ozark Gold apples for summer cropping. Univ. of Missouri Extension
recommends Redfree and Pristine summer apples for home planting. -- Sam

I'm learning a lot from this list. It was mentioned earlier that apples
need cool nights just before ripening. Could I assume then that summer
apples would not be a good idea here? We're usually hot and humid in the

summer, with very warm nights at least through August.
