Hi, Hector and all,

Here at North Carolina State University (NCSU) we call the Quercus
actissima the Sawtooth Oak. There are a couple of groves planted on
campus. They produce so many large acorns that the pavement is
practically covered each year. I didn't realize they were edible.
thanks for the information. The cup of the acorn is strikingly
"frilly", I guess you would say.
