- Subject: [NAFEX] netting fruit trees for insect control
- Date: Sun, 7 May 2006 05:55:43 -0700 (PDT)
We've talked about bagging or netting individual fruits to keep the bugs out...has anyone tried wrapping a whole tree in window screen or organza-type micromesh?
I am tempted to try it on my sour cherry trees since the trees aren't that big and they'd only need to be netted for 8-10 weeks, allowing the tree to grow unnetted in the latter part of the summer.
I have to net the trees for birds anyway, so I just wondered if finer netting would cause any problems that others have run into.
Thanks,
Nate
