G'day from Oz,
Man, these scientific idiots!
Has someone told these knuckleheads that they should focus on marketing pears!
Pears have high levels of sorbitol, particulary Winter Nelis and Beurre Bosc for example. And shock horror, great levels of natural fibre. My goodness, a fruit species that was naturally created to be good for you full stop. Can't be right, can it? (surgically removing tongue from cheek now)
Problem is folks, the wood duck headed masses will buy it by the boatload because Oprah or someone else will rave about it for the latest diet fad. I just about despair!
NB. on the lax issue with sorbitol. I make a lot of Perry (pear cider), and can confirm that Perry is a excellent beverage that is auto- moderating. Trust me, you will only overindulge once............ (dont ask)
;-)
Cheers
Mark E. in Oz (Melbourne)
