When applying for home Owners Insurance, don't make the mistake I made.
Yes, I told them about the orchard and that we let outsiders in for U-Pick.
Nothing fazed the underwriters until I called my 1.5 acres a "farm." Now, I
have to pay an additional premium in case someone gets hurt with the tractor
I don't have, never will have and don't have room for. "Farms and tractors
go together," he thought, and wrote it into the policy. I didn't argue for
very long because the other insurance companies refused me altogether
because I burn wood to fire my maple syrup evaporator.
