In boy scouts, we were told we could eat any fruit or berry with a star on
the bottom. I'm not sure, but I think they were even more specific and said
it had to be a five point star. Looking back now, I guess anything with that
star must be from the Rosaceae family. I remember debating with my father
that it meant I could eat Mountain Ash berries. He finally said go ahead and
I did. That was my one and only taste of Sorbus. One of these days, I'll
try a better one.
