Absence if sunlight or just a dimunition of it to cut out certain length of
rays seems to work in farm fishing ponds where special pond fertilizer is
used to increase microscopic flora to the point of opacity. Some algae
types interfere with pleasurable fishing by tangling lures, lines, etc.
Adjustment of pH toward the high side seems to help in ponds which due to
acid rain or decomposition of organic matter lowers pH. It requires a lot
of lime to move it up in larger ponds.
