Title: Re: [NAFEX] breeding trifoliate orange This goes back over 100 years. There have been many such hybrids of P. trifoliata with other citrus. The biggest hangup in most cases has been the fact that most such hybrids produce all nucellar seedlings, which means you can't get any further generations from them. The NAFEX hardy citrus group deals exactly with this sort of thing.

Someone has mentioned that there are some "improved" trifoliate oranges
running around somewhere. I'd like to locate some for a backyard
breeding project--selecting for "slightly less inedible" to see how much
improvement could be made.
