Growing here are two bushes of Aronia melanocarpa, origan Hidden Springs Nursery. They are somewhat choking when eating fresh. I rather like the flavor. Even had Barbara make a cobbler with them. I'm writing this so I must still be alive.
The skins didn't seem to soften up through cooking so it was somewhat chewy, but good. Barb didn't care for it.
