The Bear Creek Nursery property is now a camp for troubled kids, according to the Ag rep for the area in WA state. Have no idea as to whether any of the trees / orchards still exist in any form

On 23.01.04 21:50 Ray Kaminski spoke thusly:<br>

Have a large branch of Hanska plum that was grafted in 1998 and according to my records was obtained from Rocky Meadow Orchard and Nursery owned by Ed Fackler at the time. Is a nice tasting fruit but the problem as with any other plum you have to fight the plum curculio. It blossoms profusely and sets a nice crop of plums but by seasons end not many are left after the PC's get at them. If you are looking for scions there are quite a few on the large branch. Let me know. Zone 4-5 NE Wisc. Was -9 yesterday morning and made a high of zero with a 25 MPH wind, -5 this morning. About a foot of snow on the ground this year that will help the root systems as compared to last year when there was no snow and the frost killed a lot of plants and trees that are suppose to hardy in this zone.

Question? What ever happened to the Bear Creek nursery property? Did some other nursery take over after they gave up?
