Interesting, if true.
I've attempted to grow A.deliciosa/A.chinensis - whichever is the proper/accepted name for the fuzzy kiwis - had several varieties - Elmwood, Hayward, and Saanichton 12, the latter of which was touted as being the most cold-hardy of the fuzzies at the time(mid to late 1990s). Elmwood and Saanichton gave up the ghost during their first KY winter - and it wasn't all that severe, as winters go. Hayward had survived through at least 3 fairly mild KY winters - killing to the ground and re-sprouting from the crown/roots, but the winter just past nuked it out of existence here. Just as well, I guess; my understanding is that male arguta pollen won't fertilize fuzzy females.
