Nothing new here. The one is a chip bark graft.
I have a very old copy of a grafting book that has those and many more.

I met an interesting fellow today. He showed me two grafts he invented. I couldn't find them in my "The Grafters Handbook" by RJ Garner. One is like a dovetail joint and the other is like a bark inlay graft.
