Gang:
A couple of weeks ago the rabbit hopped on home after another long week of
work. And there sitting on my admittedly humble porch was a plain wrapped
parcel. The post mark indicated it originated in Maine and it had some
weight.
Well, blinded by child like enthusiasm (which happens to coincide with my
level of maturation and intelligence) I ripped open the box...and in a
minute the sweet perfume of it essence told me what lay within.
I am sure "ya'll" have seen the 1946 cinema classic "Its A Wonderful Life".
Upon opening the box two quotes from that movie immediately sprang to mind,
and I felt the full significance of those passages:
"A toast . . . to . . . the richest man in town!" --Harry Bailey
"Remember, no man is a failure who has friends." -- Clarence
Truly I was a rich man, for I had a friend. One who reached out over the
miles and touched me with his generosity as he bequeathed to me what I can
only consider a labor of love and friendship. For nestled in that box were
a carefully packaged bouquet of fruit from his orchard. The delicate scent
filled the air and my stomach lurched in anticipation. I quickly called the
family around and they glowed with anticipation. And at that moment I knew
I was rich. Rich in a way a man of monetary means may never truly come to
know.
I just wanted to thank my friend Ozzie (Richard Ossolinski) publicly. Your
gift was greatly appreciated. And to some of you other Nafexers that have
come in my life, Tom, Ed, there are so many among you, I just wanted to thank
you for enriching my life.
All the best,
the fluffy bunny
