I never have planned to and never will knowingly send an attachment to this site.

As Miekal and Lon have noted in different ways, attachments should not be uploaded to the list. I found the info about grafting to be

The bugbear virus is very much around - I received a copy of it in email
from "the folks at bugbear" - Norton antivirus caught it before I was aware it had arrived,
scanned it and quarantined it - I then deleted the message itself - I am sure the virus
arrived as an attachment, which Norton removed. So far there is no way to disallow attachments
to mail sent to this or any Mailman list, so it would be a good idea to send posts in plain
ascii text with no attachments, ever. On other than cablemodem or dsl connections, downloading
a 1 meg attachment takes forever.

Miekal has offered a solution that would appear to offer a solution. Perhaps he can give more specific instructions on how to upload to the permaculture wiki. In the future people can post the LINK to the item in question, saving bandwidth and making people feel more secure.

There is a Permaculture Wiki online now and soon there will be an Agriculture Wiki.
There are two ways to upload files. One is into the Wiki with its file upload plugin;
it works beautifully. The other is to upload them by ftp, then I will manually move them
to their intended destination: 1) the Wiki 2) a Nafex files area I will create in a website
on ibiblio: a) mine, ecolandtech or b) another website I can set up expressly for Nafex
and all the other fruit mailing lists ibiblio is now hosting for Lon and others.

I'd like to develop the Agriculture Wiki with areas for fruit, nuts, vegetables, herbs
and other crops of economic value rather than develop this in the Permaculture Wiki, though
it can and probably will exist in both; its easy to copy pages with text and graphics from one
Wiki to another and hyperlink extensively between them.

Use the Permaculture Wiki to upload your graphics and documents (any kind + audio and video files).
This can be used as a storage area for material that will end up in other archives elsewhere at some
other time. Here's where the upload page is and how to use it.

1) The Permaculture Wiki
http://www.ibiblio.org/ecolandtech/pcwiki/index.php
You can upload files here:
http://www.ibiblio.org/ecolandtech/pcwiki/index.php/UploadFile

2) I have create a NAFEX WikiPage at this location:
http://www.ibiblio.org/ecolandtech/pcwiki/index.php/Nafex
There's a file upload facility right there with instructions for use, give it a try.
or go directly to the file upload page:
http://www.ibiblio.org/ecolandtech/pcwiki/index.php/UploadFile

3) FTP upload instructions for pc list subscribers (& others)
http://www.ibiblio.org/permaculture/upload.html
Here are the instructions:
"FTP File Uploads to PERMACULTURE:
Use your ftp client software to upload your files
Connect to this ftp host:
ftp.ibiblio.org
then go to "incoming" then to "ecolandtech"
or connect to this host:
ftp.ibiblio.org
and set your client to start up in this "remote folder":
incoming/ecolandtech
Some of you may already use ftp clients that respond to your web browser
executing the command to go to an ftp site (surfing to an FTP URL),
in which case you can simply use the following URL in your browser
to get to the permaculture upload area:
ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/incoming/ecolandtech
BE SURE TO NOTIFY ME (L.F. LONDON, LFL@INTREX.NET) IN EMAIL OR IN THE PC LIST
WHEN YOU UPLOAD YOUR FILES, WHAT THEIR NAMES ARE AND WHERE THEY ARE TO GO,
SO I WILL KNOW TO MOVE THEM INTO THE DESIRED LOCATION"
