Hello,
When I got my first peach tree I had the same problem. When I took to
spryaing lime/sulfur after leaf drop in the fall, and before bud break in
the spring the problem was solved.
I also sprayed the soil under the drip line of the tree, after removing
all debris and burning it.
The sulfur only stinks for a short time (like rotten eggs). In regards to
the smell, view it as the smell of successesful fruiting. My father
inlaw, who runs a farm always makes this comment regarding the stench of
manure "Ah, the smell of money". It is all how you look at it.
