I've come up with a way of making labels that I'm happy with:
My wife and I drink entirely too much soda out of cans. But I've found if I
cut the ends off. and then fold the aluminum cylinder back on itself that I
can get a lightweight, but heavier duty (than most) commercial labels. I can
get 3 labels from a can. I cut the ends off using a utility knife. I use
tin shears (though other things I believe would work) to cut vertically
through the cylinder. I fold mostly by hand, but use pliers to crimp the
edges over. I can write on these with a ball point pen (pressing *very*
hard). Or you can use a stamping kit.
The quart yogurt containers might work, but I've found with most of the
plastics (and particularly the ones that aren't designed to be outside) that
the sun degrades them till they become too brittle.
SE PA, where the raspberries have finished blooming, the blackberries are in
mid-bloom, and the apples are beginning June drop.
