I have a few extra one year Northern California Black Walnut seedlings,
sometimes called "Claro" walnut. They are dormant and potted in one
gallon pots in an unheated greenhouse and I think they should ship well
bare-root. If anyone is interested, please send me your snail mail address
and I'll send them off. I only have maybe a dozen of them. I don't know
how many responses I'll get, if any, so if there are a few, I'll try to
divide them up. It might be best to respond to my e-mail address rather
than the list, to avoid clogging it up with off topic stuff.
These originated from a tree in a friend's backyard in Chico, CA. The
parent tree is definitely J.hindsii, but there is some sort of J.regia
orchard right across the street, so I suppose there may be some chance of
the seedlings being a hybrid. However, the leaf pattern looks like
J.hindsii to me.
