I did try Sonic Bloom a few years back on both my backyard apple trees and
my vegetable garden. I'm a sucker for this type of experimentation, and
like many NAFEXers, love to play around with "new methods", etc. Sonic
Bloom for those that don't know about it, is a spray (very
similar/identical? in smell, colour, and texture to a "seaweed spray"), that
you apply early in the morning to the leaves while playing music via a tape
to your plants. I sprayed early in the morning and put the tape on when I
was supposed to. The tape has nice music, but has a buzzy, sort of cricket
sound in the background, as I recall. THERE WAS ZERO NOTICIBLE DIFFERENCE IN
MY GARDEN OR ON MY TREES that summer. I found none of the claims in the ad
to be true, period. That's why there are no scientific studies, just
personal anecdotes. You can't scientifically prove something that just
isn't hapenning.

I don't think you will hurt the plants as its basically a (hugely expensive)
seaweed spray. But despite a careful eye on growth and fruiting, I honestly
saw no difference. Save your money and buy a regular foliar seaweed spray
instead. The theory that plants will grow much more vigorously due to nice
music/sound to me seemed pure hogwash, mine certainly didn't. I did,
however, try to keep an open mind, but the results were just not there. My
best guess is anyone who would follow the strict regiment of seaweed sprays,
plus setting out speakers in his crops to play music, might well get better
yields, but only because he/she was so intense on the project that the
plants would receive absolute premium treatment in all other ways, ie water,
pest control, mulching, weed control, etc.
