Taint worth it. Even at the NCGR in Corvallis, where the Shipova came in,
they aren't sure what pollinates it. It's murder to get any fruit set on it
in most places. Also, the fruit isn't that great - a faint aftertaste in
the first bite, then just sweet, bland. Fruit is about Seckel pear size,
and only at the ends of long shoots. No seeds in it, so you can't use it to
breed. In short, hard to pollinate, not productive, uninteresting flavor.
Interesting to look at with 90 degree crotch angles and red-orange blush on
the fruit (if you can get any). Plant a Seckel pear instead.
