Hello Pete, We got some nuts this year for the first time. The small tree
must be 14 years old or so. They are slow growing and often get caught by
late spring frosts. Very ornamental, and seem to like a dry climate (not
quite what we've got here). There is damage to foliage from fungus diseases
that enjoy the humidity. Our first bearing tree is about 10 ft. high. I
will be more careful in observing the bloom date next spring, because only
one tree bore nuts although many bloomed.
