Sounds quite like St Edmunds Pippin: taste and texture of an Asian pear, thin
skin, bruises easily. The rest of the description: ripens mid September,
resistant to scab, medium, flat-round, tree moderate vigor, upright,
spreading,
hardy, good cropper, Suffolk ~1875
