Since so many NAFEXers are writers of a sort (or we wouldn't have POMONA),
it seemed appropriate to extend the following invitation to NAFEX.

Hello:
I saw a need and (hopefully) filled it.
The new Garden Writers list has been created just for people in the
garden writing industry - writers, editors, publishers of magazines, books,
newspapers, etc. The list has been created to give members a chance to
exhange ideas, learn from each other, find out where the best markets are,
etc. All levels of experience are welcome, from first time writers to
veterans.
I started this list because the Garden Writers Association of America,
which many of you already belong to, lacks such a list. I queried them
about it and got no reply. The forum on the GWAA web site seemed too slow
and difficult to use, so I have taken the liberty of starting this list. It
is NOT officially connected with the GWAA, though I hope many of the GWAA
members as possible will join just so we have a faster way to spread ideas
and get advice.
The list is moderated, but will be as open as possible, within the
subject. The only requirement is polite behavior - things not tolerated
include flaming on the list (if you have a problem with someone, go
off-list), continuing with an off-subject topic when you have been requested
to stop, or using the list for spamming. Anyone doing these things gets one
warning. Beyond that, they will be removed and can only be reinstated by
general agreement of the list.
I hope this will give a faster, more interesting way for garden writers
to interact.
