In reply to Don's question about why I am interested in late ripening
cherries...
I guess I have three reasons,
1. I want to extend the season for fresh cherries in my garden.
2. Ripening in late summer and over a longer period could add to the
flavors in the fruit compared to June-July ripened fruit.
3. Novelty.
