Hey, don't forget birds.  Robins were even listed as a gamebird here in Oregon at one time.  The Italians ate so many of their songbirds at one time and prized them so much I've heard that if someone was caught poaching songbirds, the police would look the other way for a few of the catch.  Starlings would be high on the list here - sheer numbers if nothing else.
