TrotSAR has been deployed on nine searches this year.  Our mounted SAR team now has 9 SARTECH-2's that have earned their NASAR Mounted SARTECH-3 certification.

All of our members must maintain a SAR log book, which makes individual 3-year recertification and team-wide record keeping very accurate.

The team just finished its 3-year MSAR Standards review. An updated version of the team standards will be posted on our public website within the next few days.

TrotSAR also has a Facebook business page that we keep folks informed of team activities. Please feel free to Like our page.

How have you been?  I'd like to hear!

Here in northern New Mexico USA all the mounted SAR teams have been busy.
Several of our state police districts have been running far above average
in number of SAR missions.  We even have a new team over in Farmington.

Mounted teams are so valuable for the greater distance and speed they can
travel compared to a searcher on foot, potential for the rider to focus
on detecting clues while the horse negotiates the terrain, and potential
for the horse to detect (air scent) the subject.  It helps that our state
SAR Resource Officer is a former mounted SAR responder.
