We use Ready-Notify for group text and SMS messaging. This is a product known as Cooper-RSAN and is provided for free by at least 5 counties in our region. Our home county is working on integrating this system with its alpha paging (which we also use for free) and the CAD system. The user can select what messages to receive (weather, NOAA warnings, Amber Alerts, dispatches, etc.) and from where. We manage the group by adding or removing people. It does require that we know your cellphone vendor for text messages. The agencies that use other services have to pay for them (I Am Responding, One Call, Reverse 9-1-1, etc.).
