Subject: [MSAR] Our 10th Anniversary today!

MSAR-Riders is 10 years old today. I had intended to organize more of a
celebration than this post but a medical situation (all better now) in my
family took precedence.

One nice way to celebrate would be to review memories of the years you
have been a subscriber here. How much has changed in your life during
those years? How have you grown? How has your SAR team grown?

For myself, I came here as a new member of a mounted SAR team that had
been active in New Mexico for many decades. I had come to realize that
the collectively vast experience and expertise of the older members of
the team was being lost as our seniors retired and/or passed away. So
to capture some of those assets I began MSAR-Riders complete with its
public web-searchable archive.

Here is the very first page of our web archive:

Here is our About Us page:
	http://www.ibiblio.org/msar/msar-riders

Now 10 years later I am an elected officer of our state SAR association
and I am certified by our state agency having juristiction for SAR as an
incident manager (Section Chief in Planning, Logistics, and Operations).
These are just a few of the many developments in my life resulting from
my involvement in SAR. I have witnessed so many other subscribers here
grow and develop an amazing variety of new skills and expertise. I have
worked with many of you in person, and formed new friendships. Some of
us have traveled nationally and even internationally to share with others
our collective wealth of information about horseback mounted search and
rescue. Wow!

How about you?
