MSAR Mount Euthanized: Aces Cadillac Style (Patch LaChance)

Patch, a 16 yr. old TWH/SSH, was laid to rest today (3-21-12) after suffering a fractured pelvis from a kick by a field mate.  Patch was the beloved mount of Claudia LaChance, SEPASAR Member, and PA State Constable in Lower Makefield, PA. He was her first ever horse.

Patch traveled from TN to PA in 2001. He instantly became bonded to Claudia, and in the following years, they entered many parades, costume contests and trail rides. Patch and Claudia trained with SEPASAR in the parks of Tyler and Valley Forge. They served as the “Mounted Unit” of the Lower Makefield Neighborhood Watch until this past year; one of the few mounted watches  in the United States.  His bravery with people and situations made him the perfect ambassador to the breed and to the horse world.

He took her to the beaches of NJ and the Mts. of VA. Patch also braved the PA Horse World Expo in 2004 for a Liz Graves Demo. Patch loved water and Claudia took him swimming on a few occasions. He enjoyed herding Canadian Geese out of the parks, and racing up long hills at top speed.

His loss is a great sorrow to those who knew him. All great animals come to an end, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family. He leaves behind his mare buddy Ms. Candy and Mini Stallion Hoho as well as his human family: Claudia, Peter and their grown children Marcel, Beau and Aline.
