THE U.S. HAS NEVER LOST A WAR WHERE WE USED MULES.

Use of US military horses/mules faded in the late 1950s, then surfaced again in the 1980s to address mountain warfare logistics. Horses/mules are being used by the US military in the mountains of Afghanistan, etc.

This is the website dedicated to the decorated Korean War hero mare, Marine SSgt Reckless:  http://www.sgtreckless.com

Check out the 3 videos on the site. This horse was trained to carry ammunition to soldiers in the field, and carry back wounded. She was sent out alone, without a handler, located "her" marines during combat despite changing locations in the field, and returned to base.

Seeing the history of Sgt. Reckless makes you wonder what else we might be able to accomplish using Mounted SAR horses and mules.
