company/district you are somewhat organized You will have to find out whether they
have adopted NFPA practices and standards or somebody else’s There are various standard operating
guidelines and search theory publications around, either in the archives here
at MSAR or on request from members of the list I strongly suggest you obtain and read
search management texts such as Search is an Emergency, Managing the Search
Function, Managing Search Operations, papers on search subject behavior, and
anything published by Del Norris, the ISPT, or Ab Taylor (mantracking). MSAR
