MSAR-Riders,
Members of this list in the United States may recall the national media
reports back in January about two young snowboarders missing at Wolf
Creek Ski Area in Colorado. Their bodies were found in June. The find
was part of a coordinated search "training mission" involving SAR teams
from Colorado and New Mexico. The family made contact with those teams
at the annual New Mexico SAR conference, called ESCAPE, in May. There
is a nice write up about the search, with interesting details about how
the cadaver search dogs were worked. Nothing about horses, except that
horses too can be trained for cadaver search.
