Hi all,

In my unit NWHSAR at night we all ether tie are horses to the trailer, trees, or high lines when

in the field. At base camp some people use the portable fences. We all go for the safest way to d

keep the horse overnight. Me personally I tie to the trailer while at base and if I need to will sleep

in the truck or trailer (with a tarp and fresh bedding), in the field he get tied to a tree or a

high line, witch ever the team can do. You just need to work on how long of a line you can have,

before I go to bed (like I get much sleep) I offer water and food then the line gets tightened so he
get legs over the rope. And as a "safety" measure I keep a knife where I can get it, to cut the line
rope is cheap horses are not.
